How to replace specific character in String in Oracle

Published on Author bloggerfive

Suppose if the string contains unwanted character that is to be removed or replace

For Example

           [howwhywhat.in]

The square brackets are junk character here . so we need to remove it while returning query result.

Solution

  •    select regexp_replace('[howwhywhat.in]', '[\[\]]', ' ') from dual;
  •     select translate('[howwhywhat.in]', '[\[\]]', ' ') from dual;
